  1. Keeping abreast of how our tugs are progressing on their current jobs, which in turn helps decide the next best job connection.
  2. Watch the ships far offshore to see if they will be showing up at the pilot station on time, and then monitoring in which order and speed they are coming up from the sea buoy in. ShipTracks assists with more efficient connections/timings plus having the correct tug HP available.
  3. View the position of vessels in the anchorages for lightering purposes, and also to help estimate transit times to berths.
  4. Monitor "other" company tugs in the harbor to check their locations int he event we need to hire extra tugs to cover our workload on short notice.
